When starting a business as well as running it, general practices dictate that you should have a business plan.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have two problems with business plans.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first is Murphy’s Law, which roughly states, \u201cAnything that can go wrong, will.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The second is my corollary to Murphy\u2019s law, \u201cMr. Murphy is highly optimistic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

All these titans of the digital world with their massive brain trusts and future architectures, all their planning meant nothing when Covid hit and when it left.<\/span><\/p>\n

All their planning was for naught, it didn\u2019t work because it could not take EVERYTHING into account.<\/span><\/p>\n

For a couple of years, I mentored small business people at SCORE.<\/span><\/p>\n

The organization had protocols for business start-ups and those businesses that needed a \u201ccourse correction.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Contrarian that I am and have always been, I teach just the opposite,<\/span><\/p>\n

know how and what\u2019s going to get you through tomorrow.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
